I used Katella as it is a local company and owned by a lovely woman, who also gives back to her community. Florence was extremely efficient and prompt in answering my queries. I did the 10 day safari (solo) which was extremely well organised, and my guide (Bright) was awesome and we had some great conversations! The tour is extremely varied and excellent value for money. The accommodation was really beautiful and I saw so much wildlife, including gorillas and chimpanzees up close. You won’t go wrong with Katella… it’s a top-notch organisation and there is a reason they are highly recommended on Trip Advisor.

My family of 4 (mom, dad, sons 12 and 15) traveled in Uganda 14 nights with Katella Dec 2024-Jan 2025. I whole heartedly recommend them. Flora (safari owner, planner and your point of contact for arranging your trip) is an incredible person and business owner. She answered every question, genuinely cares about her clients and their experience, helped us arrange some unique opportunities for our sons while there and is completely trustworthy. I have loved getting to work with her and hope to stay in touch. Our guide, Arafat, took such good care of us in all ways and taught us so much. He was very gracious in answering my unending questions and teaching us about his beautiful country and the amazing wildlife. He is very experienced guide and we benefitted greatly from his deep knowledge and understanding. We are so grateful to have spent two weeks getting to know him and seeing Uganda through his eyes. The lodges Flora arranged for us were clean, large, and very comfortable. All had gorgeous grounds and views and attentive and caring staff. Everywhere we went the food was very good with plenty of meat and vegetarian choices. Both Flora and Arafat picked us up at the airport (and helped when our luggage was delayed 24 hours) and greeted us warmly and helped us feel very safe and comfortable. We loved our tour of Kampala (and even happened to see the King of Buganda) and the uniqueness of each of the parks we visited. Getting to walk to see the White Rhinos (on Christmas Day!) was so neat and the treks to see Chimpanzee and especially Gorilla were memories we will never forget. The cultural experiences (community tour, cooking with a local family) etc were definitely highlights too and I am so grateful that we got a chance to interact with so many beautiful humans and learn more about their lives.

We had an amazing time, Noah was our tour guide, he was the nicest and most helpful. He seemed to know everything about the animals and areas we visited and was our own personal safari guide for the entire trip. Since he is from west Uganda and was a ranger, he seemed to know every area and everyone we bumped into. Highly recommend. Honestly, Katella organised the trip of my lifetime, amazing 5 days! Gorilla trekking, boat tours, game drives in different national parks...the whole itinerary was totally personalised to my expectations. Florence was so helpful during our talks before the trip, and incredibly flexible with accommodation arrangement and payment dates. She manages her company in a way which should be an example to other companies, and checks on her clients even during the safari to see if everything is going well. I really appreciated it. I got Arafat as a tour guide who is really experienced, knows everything not only about animals, but he also shares how life is in Uganda. As travelling solo for the first time as a female, I was a bit nervous how it was going to go. But we had great conversations and I always felt comfortable. He was also flexible, regarding the activities and timing as well to fit into the days as many things as possible. The highlight of these days was the gorilla trekking without a question. It has its price, but once in a lifetime experience, and watching them or 1 hour was emotional and so exciting at the same time. The Southern part of Uganda has its own beauty, maybe the scenery is even greener than the rest of the country. One thing I especially want to recommend is the "cultural experience" around Bwindi forest. The history and present of the Batwa community has really touched me, more people should know about their (previous) way of living. I will think back about these days for a really long time. Can't wait to come back to Uganda!❤️

The Lodge she booked for use was perfect..spotless and the staff could not have been more attentive. Food was great also. Robert her driver was the best. His driving skills, his patience with 3 women always forgetting something in our room, turning back and stopping for pictures on request was so appreciated. On top of it he has a great sense of humour. The Gorilla trek was a dream come true. I cannot recommend Katella and this trip more.

I just recently returned from a 2 week trip to Uganda. Wow, what an incredible experience/adventure it was! I’ve traveled all over the world but hands down this was the best trip of my life! Katella Uganda safaris did a phenomenal job helping me plan an absolutely magical trip for me and my mom to Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania! We did gorilla trekking, chimp trekking, golden monkey trekking. We explored Queen Elizabeth National park, murchison falls, took a boat ride on the Nile River, drove through The Maasai Mara and Serengeti. We were a group of 6 friends on a 12 day safari. We had an amazing trip. We saw so many animals as we went to every National Park around the country. We saw at least 75 elephants, 7 rhinos, 11 Silver Back Gorillas, a dozen Chimpanzees, hundreds of Babbons, 60 or more Elephants, Warthogs 20+ Monkeys and Lions. Katella did an amazing job. Florence and our driver, Arafat were fantastic. I have nothing bad to say. Katella was easily 5 of 5 stars.

This was certainly a trip of a lifetime! Katella paid attention to so many details, from the amazing lodges, to great food, and providing a fabulous guide Arafat. Our family of 4 enjoyed a 10 day safari with Katella Uganda Safaris. We thoroughly enjoyed every moment, it exceeded all of our expectations. Florence was easy to communicate with and professional in every way. She really cared that we had a good time and even organised a cake for our daughters 18th birthday at one of the lodges. The lodges were all excellent and food plentiful and delicious. Its hard to chose which we liked the best ! Every encounter we had with every Ugandan was friendly and genuine. We had a great trip! We had a great driver. His name was Arafat. We learned a lot. We saw chimpanzees, gorillas, Golden monkeys, the coffee queen,banana man, center for women, lot's of crater lakes, swamp walk, a cave, and went to a bar. We saw lots just driving though the cities and villages. And Arafat is an excellent driver with a lot of knowledge to share.

We can't say enough about our experience with Florence and Katella Uganda Safaris, and our trip of a lifetime in Uganda and Kenya. We worked on this trip for over a year. Florence was the first person I reached out to and, due to the scope of this vacation and budget, I, of course, looked at several other companies. Florence was always quick to respond and was so accommodating and patient to the many changes and ideas we had through the process. Her prices ended up being the best and she fit in everything we asked for. We had many moving parts with 2 couples, specific accommodations we wanted for a few locations, stopping in Egypt on the way, and flights, drives, boats, balloons, horseback riding, etc. and everything was seamless. Not one missed activity, transfer or pick up. She checked in along the way to make sure all was good and we arrived on time. The accommodations she picked for us (when we didn't have a specific request) and all the drivers she arranged were excellent, and you could tell she was in constant communication with them. Florence and Eveline were also so kind as to meet us for lunch the short time we had in Entebbe, and even arranged for us to see the Botanical Gardens during our layover. Our itinerary for a 2 week trip was as follows: - 2 days in Egypt (not part of our Katella itinerary - great guide was Dalia) - 2 days in Uganda at Tracker's Safari Lodge which we loved. Gorilla trek and Batwa Cultural Experience (both fantastic!) - 1 night in Nairobi at Tamarind Tree Hotel. - 3 nights Borana Lodge which was AMAZING and worth every penny. Game drives, Rhino tracking on foot, behind the scenes with conservation efforts (amazing), horseback safari, E bike safari, Masai inauguration ceremony (once every 15 yrs). All was just awesome. Saw the big 5 within first 2 days, and so much more. - 1 night Lake Nakuru / Cliff Lodge which was fantastic and wish we had more time here - 1 night Lake Naivasha / Sawela Lodge - Game drive through Lake Nakuru National Park, boat ride on lake, walking safari on Crescent Island. - 4 nights at Kilima Camp in Masai Mara - loved it. Small, amazing panoramic views of the Mara from the highest point, luxury tents, great food. Masai Mara is everything you picture for an African Safari. - Flight back to Nairobi - we booked our own accommodations at Crowne Plaza Airport which was a great location and good hotel. You won't go wrong with Katella - happy planning and safe travels!

We traveled as a couple with Katella Uganda Safaris. Flo took care of everything, from our initial inquiry all the way through to follow ups the week after our trip. She planned our dream trip for us and it was perfect in every way. You can tell she works closely with the lodges so you’re treated extra nice all the way. Her timing was perfect as to the pace of the trip and how much we did each day. We were spoiled rotten by not doing it with a group, we had our guide and vehicle all to ourselves, an amazing luxury that she somehow made affordable. I looked around at similar group trips and even in a group, doing less than we did, our trip was lower cost and included everything we wanted to see. When I had a tummy issue before a big event that I didn’t want to miss she pulled all the strings to get me to a doctor and even rearranged our trip for a couple days so I could recover. I would say if you are thinking about safari, contact Flo immediately. She will make a perfect trip for you at a very reasonable price and you will not be disappointed in anything.

. I took a solo trip with Katella Uganda Safaris to Uganda. This was a once in a lifetime amazing experience. From trekking chimpanzees in the wild to seeing mountain silverback gorillas in their natural habitat. This should be in everyone's bucket list!. From the start I was impressed with Florence. She responded quickly to my emails and thoroughly resolved any concerns or questions I had. She put together a custom itinerary, matching exactly what I wanted to see and do. Flo went out of her way to make sure that this trip not only met my expectations, but exceeded them. Everything I  wanted to do while i were there, no matter how big or small she made sure I got to do it.  I would have no reservations recommending Flo and Katella Uganda Safaris to others. The airline did not deliver my suitcase for the first 3 days. Flo came through again. She gave me a top to wear and then she went to the airport, collected my suitcase and delivered it hundreds of miles away to me. At the end of the tour I ran into some complications and Flo and her team could have easily said that I was on my own as that was the end of her services but she made sure to check on me every day, made arrangements for transportation and came to visit me several times even though she lived more than two hours away.
