- Itinerary
8 Days /7 Night
Your driver/guide will pick you up from your agreed location (hotel in Nairobi or the airport) and head out to Amboseli National Park on the Nairobi/Mombasa Highway. The journey will take you through the African savannah, passing local farms. Keep an eye out for Maasai herdsmen in their colorful wraps tending to their cattle.
After lunch at your Amboseli accommodation, you’ll have time to relax and freshen up. Mount Kilimanjaro dominates the landscape of this small park, and wildlife is often spotted through the sparse scrub. In the afternoon, enjoy game drives where you’ll likely see Amboseli's famous elephants marching to and from waterholes. Other animals to watch for include hyenas, dik-diks, duikers, zebras, lions, serval cats, cheetahs, and more.
Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.
Start the day early with breakfast before heading out for a day of adventure in the plains of Amboseli. Enjoy breathtaking views of Mount Kilimanjaro before the clouds gather over its summit. This is the perfect time to spot big cats like lions, leopards, and cheetahs as they roam the savannah. Your game drive will take you to Observation Hill for panoramic views of the park. You’ll also have the chance to spot over 80 different mammals and more than 400 bird species.
Enjoy a picnic lunch before continuing the game drive. In the evening, return to the lodge to relax, have dinner, and stay overnight.
Optional Activities Include:
Balloon Safari: Experience Amboseli from above, with one side showcasing the towering Kilimanjaro and the other side open savannah grassland and wetlands.
Bush Breakfast: Arrange a bush breakfast with many lodges for a tranquil experience in the African wilderness.
Visiting Local Villages: Learn about the lifestyle of the Maasai community and their traditions.
After breakfast, check out and drive to Lake Naivasha. You’ll arrive just in time for a hot lunch and check-in. In the afternoon, switch from Jeep to boat for a safari on the lake. Glide past curious hippos, exotic fish, and take in the wide array of birdlife, including cormorants and pelicans. Later, enjoy a guided walking safari at Crescent Island Sanctuary, where you can walk past peacefully grazing antelope, buffalo, zebra, giraffe, and more.
Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
After breakfast, you’ll head to Hell’s Gate National Park for a bicycle ride, walking safari, or a hike in Hell’s Gate Gorge. The park can be explored by foot or bike, offering a close-up view of the wildlife.
Next, drive for about an hour to Lake Nakuru National Park, where you’ll check in and have lunch. In the afternoon, enjoy a game drive in the park, famous for its birdlife, with thousands of flamingos, pelicans, and other species. The park is also home to black and white rhinos, warthogs, lions, zebras, giraffes, and more.
Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.
You'll wake up for an early breakfast, check out, and set off for the Masai Mara National Reserve, which is a drive that lasts approximately 5 hours. You'll arrive in time for lunch and check-in. Later in the afternoon, you'll head out for an afternoon game drive in the famous Masai Mara National Reserve, home to the Eighth Wonder of the World, the great wildebeest migration. We'll look for many animals, such as lions, leopards, Maasai giraffes, Cape buffalos, cheetahs, and elephants.
Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Enjoy an early breakfast as today will be a game-viewing extravaganza! We will traverse the Masai Mara National Reserve on a full day of unlimited game viewing, encountering the Big Five and more of the lesser game. The Masai Mara remains the most exciting wildlife ecosystem in the natural world. It is host to the highest and most varied concentration of wild animals compared to any other wildlife park in the region. The scenic appeal of the tree-studded savannah plains, the moderate climate, and the diversity of wildlife species make it a one-stop shop for game-viewing activities.
You will enjoy a picnic lunch by the Mara River as we watch hippos and crocodiles, or maybe the great migration (July to October).
There is also an opportunity to experience a hot-air balloon ride and float over the Masai Mara plains as you watch the game (at an extra cost).
Dinner and our overnight stay are at the lodge.
After your breakfast at your camp or lodge, your driver/guide will assist you with the checkout process and proceed to Nairobi, Kenya’s colorful capital city. On the way, your guide will point out the extinct Longonot volcano, a strato volcano located southeast of Lake Naivasha in the Great Rift Valley of Kenya. It is thought to have last erupted in the 1860s, and its name is derived from the Maasai word Oloonong’ot, meaning “mountains of many spurs” or “steep ridges “.
You'll arrive in Nairobi in time for lunch and later transfer to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your flight to the next destination.
