This itinerary offers a comprehensive safari experience in Rwanda and Uganda, focusing on diverse wildlife, primate encounters, boat trips and scenic landscapes. It balances iconic destinations with opportunities for unique experiences, ensuring a memorable 12-day adventure.

12 Days /11 Night

On arrival at the Kigali International Airport, you will have a meet and greet by our Company Representative who will then drive you to the hotel for overnight. Spent rest of the day at leisure as you wait for the fascinating adventures of this “Land of a Thousand hills” in the following days.

Overnight at Chez Lando Hotel or similar. Meal Plan: Bed and Breakfast.

You will have breakfast then have a visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial Site commemorating the 1994 Rwandan Genocide. Later, you will transfer to your hotel in Ruhengeri for overnight.
Upon arrival there, you will have a hot lunch then head to the Ibyiwacu village for a cultural experience. While here, you will learn of the ways of the Rwandese people. You will visit the Diane Fossey museum and get to learn of her gorilla conservation efforts. Return to the lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Overnight at DaVinci Gorilla Lodge or similar. Meal Plan: Lunch, Dinner, Breakfast.

Have an early breakfast and then transfer to the Volcanoes National park headquarters for a briefing about the golden monkey trek. You will join other trekkers and the rangers and the head to the forest. You'll enjoy great views of the mountain scenery as you start your trek into the park to find the rare golden monkeys. The golden monkeys live near the edge of the park in the bamboo forests where the ground is relatively flat and easy to trek. The monkeys travel in large groups and are as energetic as they are photogenic, often seen playing in the high branches or foraging on the ground for bamboo shoots. After an amazing one hour with the golden monkeys, you will return to the trailhead and drive back to the lodge for lunch. Thereafter, you'll head to the Rwanda- Uganda border where after clearing, you will proceed to Bwindi forest, home to over half of the world’s mountain gorillas. Relax and get ready for the next day’s adventure

Overnight at Rushaga Gorilla Lodge or similar. Meal Plan: Lunch, Dinner, Breakfast.

After breakfast and getting ready with your packed lunch, you'll head to the park headquarters for briefing by park ranger guides, to start gorilla trekking. The activity can last up to 1 hour of trekking or more to find the mountain gorillas as you hike up and down the slopes with dense mist-covered vegetation. This active quest will eventually bring you to the face with one of the most sought-after creatures; the mountain gorillas. Upon reaching them, you will have one full hour with them while observing and learning their behavior as you take photos. The thrill of spending time observing these gentle but endangered giants is unforgettable. You'll return to the lodge for relaxation.

Later, you will move out to encounter the local Batwa community. While here, you will learn of their ancient ways of living. These people once shared the forest with the mountain gorillas. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Overnight at Rushaga Gorilla Lodge or similar. Meal Plan: Lunch, Dinner, Breakfast.

This morning, you will drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park, home to elephants, lions, hippos,
baboons, any of which you might see while on a game drive.
Later you will have a boat ride on the Kazinga Channel boat cruise for an afternoon of wild game
viewing. You will spot crocodiles, buffaloes, elephants, and a wide range of bird species on the channel waters. After the Kazinga Channel boat cruise, you'll drive to the lodge for dinner and your overnight stay.

Overnight at Enshama Game Lodge or similar. Meal Plan: Lunch, Dinner, Breakfast.

You will be up early and have your breakfast. You'll proceed for a morning game drive/safari in the Kasenyi plains and be on the lookout for cape buffalos, herds of elephants plus lions, and if lucky-leopards among others. You will then proceed to Kibale Forest for overnight. This Forest is known as the Primates capital with about 13 species of primates. Relax and get ready for the next day’s adventure.
Optional Activity: Crater lakes hike, cultural tours, nature walks in the forest

Overnight at Bweza Kibale Lodge or Similar. MealPlan: Lunch, Dinner, Breakfast.

Rise early for an exhilarating chimpanzee trek into the Kibale Forest. The air is thick with
anticipation as you venture deep into the forest, where the chorus of hooting chimpanzees fills the canopy above. Suddenly, there they are, swinging gracefully between the trees, their energy palpable. Watching these intelligent creatures in their natural habitat is a moment that will stay with you forever.
In the afternoon, wander through the Bigodi Wetland, a paradise for bird lovers and nature enthusiasts. With luck, you’ll spot the elusive red colobus monkeys or the sitatunga antelope, as well as stunning birds like the great blue turaco. You will have a cultural experience in this area and with this, you will learn about traditional life, see coffee/banana/ tea farming and learn about the processing of these products, meet healers, enjoy local food, and buy crafts, with proceeds supporting community education and conservation, providing a rich blend of nature and authentic human connection. Return to the lodge for your overnight stay.

Overnight at Bweza Kibale Lodge or Similar. MealPlan: Lunch, Dinner, Breakfast.

You will enjoy a lovely breakfast at the hotel. Thereafter, you'll embark on a transfer to the Murchison Falls National Park. The highlights of this park include the roaring rapids of the Murchison Falls, and the rolling plains of Uganda’s largest National Park where you will have the chance of viewing lions, leopards, giraffes, hartebeest, buffalo, and elephants. Then surely, the concentration of hippos and Nile crocodiles here will fascinate you.

Overnight at Pakuba Safari Lodge or similar. Meal Plan: Lunch, Dinner, Breakfast.

You will have breakfast then depart for an early morning game drive across the rolling plains of the Park and be on the lookout for wildlife including lions, giraffes, elephants and if lucky- leopards among others. For any birder, there are quite several birds to sight too during the drive.
You'll return to the accommodation for some rest time and lunch. After lunch, you will head out for the boat trip to the base of Murchison Falls where you will also be able to catch sight of more animals including hippos and crocodiles and several water birds.

Overnight at Pakuba Safari Lodge or similar. Meal Plan: Lunch, Dinner, Breakfast.

You will have breakfast and then drive to the top of the falls to truly appreciate the beauty and magnificence of the Murchison Falls. You will then embark on a transfer to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for a nature walk with Rhinos. From the rhino tracking, you will enjoy lunch at a local restaurant and then continue with the transfer to Jinja for overnight.

Overnight at: 2Friends Hotel or similar. Meal Plan: Lunch, Dinner, Breakfast.

This day, you will get to have a boat cruise to the source of the Nile river. There are a range of optional activities that you can engage in and these include; bungee jumping, White water rafting, Kayaking, Horse Riding. Have lunch then transfer to Entebbe for overnight.

Overnight at: Airport Guest House or similar. Meal Plan: Lunch, Dinner, Breakfast.

After breakfast, you'll head out on a remarkable birding excursion at Mabamba Swamp, a renowned bird-watching destination near Entebbe, famed for its population of the elusive shoebill stork. This early morning adventure begins with a scenic boat ride through the tranquil papyrus marshes, where expert local guides lead you to the prime spots for observing these prehistoric-looking birds. The swamp is not only home to the shoebill but also hosts a diverse array of bird species (papyrus gonolek, long-toed lapwing, comorants), making it a paradise for bird enthusiasts. As you navigate the waterways, you'll have ample opportunities to capture stunning photographs and witness the unique behaviors of the shoebill in its natural habitat. This unforgettable experience at Mabamba Swamp offers a perfect blend of serenity and excitement, providing a captivating glimpse into Uganda's rich avian life.
Later, you will head to Entebbe International Airport where you will catch your flight to the next destination.
