You will have a Meet and greet with our Company Representative at the airport who will then transfer you to Kigali, the capital of Rwanda to your accommodation. Depending on your arrival time, stroll the streets of the capital to acclimatize yourself and fit into the Rwandan way

This morning after breakfast, you will drive to Kigali town for a city tour where you will get to know Rwanda’s most beautiful and amazing city. You also get to learn about the country’s culture and history by visiting the cultural and historical sites of Kigali.

Kigali is Rwanda’s capital city and was named by Doctor Richard Kandt in 1907, the first colonial governor of Rwanda. The city is built on several hills and valleys, there by gaining the title- “the land of a thousand hills” or Hilly city.

Places of interest include;

Genocide Memorial Centre: regarded as one of the best museums in Africa. Visiting the Gisozi Museum lets you learn of the dark times of the 100 days of genocide in the entire country in 1994.

Kandt Museum and Natural History Museum: It is found at the base of Mt. Jali and Mt.
Kigali, and this is the same place where the German explorer, Dr. Kandt Resided.

Presidential Palace Museum: This palace was for the former president Habyarimana who passed away in 1994 in a plane crash in the presidential compound. It is his death that launched the era of genocide.

Nyamata Church Genocide site: this is another site where the genocide took place. Over 5000 people died in and around this church in 1994.

Art Museum: you will get to visit Inema Arts Centre for contemporary African Arts, paintings, jewelry, sculptures, African fabrics and leatherworks. While at the museum, visitors will be treated to some cool performances from the young children at the art museum.

Nyamirambo walking tour: This is filled with character and the streets are almost bustling with people - Unlike the rest of the city’s sleepy streets.

After lunch, you will drive through the city and pass through the scenic country of a thousand hills all draping in unending lush green vegetation cover towards Ruhengeri, the land of the endangered Mountain Gorillas. Have lunch at the lodge. We give you time to have sufficient rest as you restore your energies for your gorilla trek. Dinner and overnight at your lodge.
