Upon arrival, you will be met by our Company Representative who will transfer you to your hotel in Kigali. Spend the rest of the day at leisure as you acclimatize to the Rwandan way.
Overnight at Heaven Retreat or similar. Meal Plan: Bed and Breakfast
After breakfast, your Katella Uganda Safaris driver/guide will pick you up and take you to visit the Genocide Museum. Later, you’ll be driven to Nyungwe Forest National Park in southwest Rwanda. En route, you’ll visit the Royal Palace Museum, learning about the traditional ways and kingship of the Rwandese people. After lunch at a local restaurant, you’ll head to your lodge for an overnight stay. Relax and get ready for tomorrow’s adventure.

Enjoy breakfast and then gather at Uwinka Reception for a briefing on chimpanzee tracking. Afterward, you’ll meet your park ranger and guide who will lead you on a 1-4 hour trek in the forest to find the chimpanzees, often spotted jumping between trees, chattering and laughing. Once you find the chimps, you’ll have an hour to capture the life-changing experience with photos and videos.
In the afternoon, enjoy a canopy walk—a 50-meter-long suspended bridge that offers a bird’s-eye view of the rainforest, where you can spot wildlife below. Afterward, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

After breakfast, head to Lake Kivu, the largest scenic lake in Rwanda and one of the smaller Great Lakes of Africa. Enjoy a boat ride on the lake, with optional activities including kayaking, sport fishing, and other water sports.

After breakfast, check out and begin your journey through green rolling hills and spectacular landscapes to Volcanoes National Park—a paradise for the majestic mountain gorillas. Upon arrival, check in at the lodge and relax, preparing for the following day’s activities.
Overnight at Davinci Gorilla Lodge or similar. Meal Plan: Lunch, Dinner, Breakfast
After breakfast, transfer to the park headquarters at Kinigi for a briefing on mountain gorilla trekking. With your trekking gear, drinking water, and packed lunch, set off on an unforgettable trek in the jungle forests of Volcanoes National Park. Trekking may take 1-7 hours depending on the gorillas' movement.
Once you encounter the gorillas, you’ll spend an hour observing them as they interact, play, feed, build nests, and groom each other. Meeting these majestic creatures is an adrenaline-filled, once-in-a-lifetime experience.
Time permitting, you may choose from optional activities, such as a boat ride on Twin Lakes, visiting Ibyiwacu Cultural Village, or exploring the Ellen DeGeneres Museum.

Today, embark on a hike up Mount Bisoke, one of the eight volcanoes in the Virunga ranges of the Albertine Rift. This adventurous hike offers stunning views and a memorable experience.
Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

After breakfast, visit the Dian Fossey tomb located near her Karisoke Research Center between Mount Karisimbi and Mount Bisoke.
Time permitting, you can take an optional city tour of Kigali before heading to the airport for your outbound flight.
